Hiroaki (“Hiro”) Nishikawara is an experienced immigration attorney at Moreno & Villarrubia LLP.  Mr. Nishikawara is a member of the firm’s Immigration and Global Mobility Practice Group.  Prior to joining Moreno & Villarrubia, Mr. Nishikawara was in private practice with a large national law firm where his practice area included employment defense in addition to immigration law. 

Mr. Nishikawara represents clients – both corporate and individual clients – before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Administrative Appeals Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, etc., on a wide range of immigration-related matters and routinely provides assistance to clients with respect to:

·        Employment-related non-immigration visas (e.g., first-time, extension and change of status petitions involving E, L, H-1B visas).

·        Family-related nonimmigrant visas including K-1 fiancé(e) visa.

·        Employment-related immigrant visas.

·        Family sponsored immigration visas (e.g., Green Card application based on marriage to a U.S. citizen).

·         Application for Naturalization.

·         Waiver of unlawful presence bars (I-601A).

·         Waiver of two-year foreign residence requirement based on No Objection Statement as well as on exceptional hardship (I-612).

·         I-9 compliance issues.

 

Mr. Nishikawara received his Juris Doctor degree in 2004 from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.  Mr. Nishikawara is admitted to the Indiana Supreme Court (May 2004), U.S. District for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana (May 2004), and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (October 2007).
